Ella Wassweiler
Electrical Engineering Instructor

Hometown: St. Paul, MN

Hi everyone! I am a fifth year PhD candidate in the MIT EECS department working for Prof. Vladimir Bulovic. I'm interested in developing solar cells out of new materials so they can be put on lightweight or flexible substrates. Outside of the lab, I am obsessed with Star Wars and hiking. My biggest bucket list item is to see all of the US National Parks! Looking forward to building some cool circuits this summer!

Jiejun2021

Jiejun Jin
Computer Science Instructor

Hometown: Anhui, China

I’m currently a second-year PhD student in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. I work with Dr. Lizhong Zheng on the topic of information theory and machine learning, which uses tools like probability to make conclusions about fundamental limits in transmitting and storing information. Outside of my work, I love swimming, watching movies, reading novels, and travelling. I am excited to meet you this summer and play with you in the interesting world of Python programming.

Electrical Engineering Tutor

Wellesley College Class of 2021
Major: Applied Physics, Minor: Astronomy
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA

Hey everyone— My name is Chloe and I’m a student at Wellesley College (about 45 minutes from MIT). My undergrad research focuses on different instrumentation for space sciences, tackling questions like, “How can we confirm the surface of a telescope mirror is flawless?” or, “How can a spacecraft harness a lighter alternative to rocket fuel?” Turns out, the answer to those questions is electrical engineering! I’m currently living at home with my family, where I like to play videogames, sketch and paint, and chase around my sister’s dogs. Looking forward to meeting you all soon!

Hi everyone! I’m a graduating MEng student at MIT concentrating in theoretical computer science. I spent some time in my early undergrad years as a Biological Engineering major before switching to EECS my junior year, and I’m excited to help you guys get exposure to the subject. As an undergrad, I minored in Spanish and was involved in the student literature magazine, and I was a member of cooking community in New House with Liz. In my free time, I love going for walks or hikes, playing with dogs, and watching Netflix.

WTP Director and WTP-EECS Track Coordinator

Cynthia Skier

MIT SB 1974 Humanities and Science
MIT SM 1981 Sloan Management
Hometown: Lexington, MA

I have been the WTP Director since fall 2002, after the first pilot summer. Before that I managed computer software companies and worked in management consulting. I have a grown daughter, son, and daughter-in law. In my free time I like to sing, read mysteries, and watch old movies, especially film noire, musicals and science fiction. I love living in Lexington, where every April they reenact the first battle of the American Revolution on the town common (and we see Redcoats and Minutemen taking coffee breaks together). In addition to my WTP responsibilities, I also am on the staff of the EECS Alliance industry connection program.
